Matric Rewrite 2024 ADMISSION FOR REGISTRATION
  • Supplementary Exam Candidates: Learners who wrote the NSC the previous year and qualify to write a maximum of 2 subjects to meet the requirements of the NSC Examinations which are written in February/March. Face to Face Classes will take place in Feb/ March for a period of 12 hours.
  • Progressed Learners: Learners who wrote the NSC the previous year but did not sit for all 6 subjects (multiple options) and will write the examinations for the outstanding subjects in June. Face to Face Classes will take place in April/June for a period of 30 hours.
  • Senior Certificate (amended) Examination Candidates: Learners registered to write the Senior Certificate (amended) examinations in June. Face to Face Classes will take place in April/June for a period of 30 hours.
  • NSC Examinations Part-time candidates: Learners who attempted the NSC examinations post 2008 and will write the examinations in November. Face to Face Classes will take place in August/September for a period of 30 hours.

Matric rewrite colleges

There are two major learning regimes that you can follow to complete your matric certificate

Day or night Classes

These classes are scheduled and will help to maintain a strict learning programme. For example the St Francis Adult Education Centre offers night school for adults and day school for matriculants as well as weekend classes. It generally operates from 08:00 to 21:00 daily.

Distance learning

This option provides more flexibility but requires a greater level of discipline. Damelin and Intec College offer distance learning programmes which would suit people currently employed who cannot take time off from work to go to classes.

GED Grade 12 Equivalency

If you have not completed grade 12 or have failed the National Senior Certificate Boston gives you a second chance to earn your qualification.

Boston City campus and Business College in association with Strive Software now offers the GED programme online, which is the American equivalent of the South African Matric Certificate.

Individuals must have a Grade 10 Certificate and be 16 years of age to enrol in the programme and take the GED test or pass the readiness assessment.
